Happy Wheels has just been released at a time when the iconic Flash version is facing its imminent end—an event that kept many on the edge of their seats. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t disturbed your sleep. If you weren’t aware that a new version was in development, here’s some exciting news for you. As this is the initial public release, please bear with us as we work out any remaining bugs.
While I still prefer the original Flash version, I appreciate that this new release runs exceptionally well on mobile devices. Currently, this version does not include on-screen controls for mobile gameplay, but they will be added in an upcoming update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to play on your phone immediately, a Bluetooth keyboard works perfectly.
Although I previously mentioned that the game runs at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience slight slowdowns at that framerate. There is a setting to adjust this, and I’m considering hosting a separate 60Hz version on a different page for users with high-performance CPUs.
The rest of the game, Happy Wheels JS, aims to faithfully replicate the original in terms of design and gameplay. The user database, levels, and replays remain unchanged from the original release—only the imminent end of the universe has been averted.
